Aviation Fuel Cap Lock Announces New Gas Cap Security Lock designed for R22 / R44 Robinson Helicopters

New security product helps deter fuel tampering and contamination while Robinson R22 and R44 helicopters are parked, stored, or unattended.

Discovery Bay, CA — 06-15-2026Aviation Fuel Cap Lock is proud to announce the release of its Gas Cap Security Lock, a practical new aircraft security product designed to help protect helicopter fuel systems from tampering, contamination, and unauthorized access while the aircraft is unattended.

Developed for Robinson R22 and R44 helicopter owners, operators, flight schools, and maintenance facilities, the Gas Cap Security Lock provides an added layer of protection during hangar storage, transient airport parking, overnight parking, and off-airport parking situations.

Fuel security is a critical concern for aircraft owners and operators. The Aviation Fuel Cap Lock was designed to help deter access to the fuel cap area while still being engineered to fail under extreme force, helping reduce the risk of extensive damage to the aircraft in the event of attempted forced entry.

“Our goal was to create a simple, effective, and responsible security solution for Robinson helicopter owners,” said John Y of Aviation Fuel Cap Lock. “This product gives operators added peace of mind by helping ensure their fuel has not been tampered with while the aircraft is parked or unattended.”

Each R22 / R44 Gas Cap Security Lock includes TSA-approved locks and “Remove Before Flight” banners, making the system easy to identify and remove during preflight procedures.

The product is ideal for use in a variety of parking and storage situations, including:

Hangar storage
Transient and overnight airport parking
Off-airport parking
Flight school and fleet aircraft parking
Private owner aircraft storage

The Gas Cap Security Lock is designed strictly for ground-use security and is not approved for inflight use. Operators must remove the device before flight as part of normal preflight inspection and safety procedures.

Gas Cap Security Lock is now available through aviationfuelcaplock.com.
